Happiness

I believe that the definition of happiness has been corrupted, especially from the meaning as most likely applied when the US Constitution was written. Happiness, in today’s consumer driven, me-me-me, culture has become synonymous with fame, popularity and possessions. It is the late night 30 minute infomercial on how you can be happy once you are being fed grapes by supermodels on your yacht while flipping house in only 10 minutes a day.

In my definition, happiness equals contentment. That I am living my life in accordance with my values and beliefs, not by how many friends I have on Facebook, how big my bank account is or whether my actions bring about my desired results.
