(Bad) Choices

While it is easy to think that the big 3 – “fame, money, power” – are an affliction of the modern world, anyone who has studied any history or anthropology will know that this is nothing new. While the exposure may be broader and the decadence may seem bigger (though that is highly debatable based on the excesses of almost any past ruler), the motivations still stay the same throughout the ages. In other words, the more things change, the more they stay the same, at least as far as human behavior is concerned.

Ecclesiastes 1:9 –  The thing that hath been, it is that which shall be; and that which is done is that which shall be done: and there is no new thing under the sun.
